Mandrem and the North
The whole area is evolving fast and the natural charm that can be found in Mandrem is a must to capture before it vanishes! The area remains mainly agricultural with sleepy little villages, where many villagers still relying on fishing, prawn farming and cashew nuts farming.
Mandrem village is a charming traditional village, a central meeting point for locals, and a place to watch the world go by, with pigs darting across the narrow roads and the children playing free. Its shops stock most of the items that western holiday makers demand. Enjoy searching through the local ‘Aladdin’s Caves’ with their high stacked shelves, crammed full of colourful exotic spices and grains and household goods.
Arambol is just 6 km up the coast and offers a wealth of entertainment. You can spend hours browsing in the enticing, colourful shops or relaxing over a Masala Chai and tasty cake in one of the café’s. Come for dinner and enjoy live music while you eat. You will be spoilt for choice of good food, company and ambience!
