Goa
Goa has become a popular holiday destination due to the combination of picturesque beaches, accessible culture and laid-back atmosphere. It really does have something to offer all its visitors! The weather is fabulous, offering unbroken sunshine between October to April and temperatures which rarely fall below 91F. Goa has over 100km of golden sandy beaches, dotted with family-run restaurants and teams of fishermen hauling their nets.
Goa offers a unique blend of Portuguese and Indian culture which has influenced its architecture, cuisine, religion and culture. Goa was a Portuguese colony for several hundred years and the evidence is seen everywhere from magnificent houses built at the height of the Portuguese rule and Old Goa, the old capital, built as a testament to the Portuguese wealth and power. Enjoy this decidedly gentle introduction to India with its spice shops, bars and brilliantly colourful markets, its exuberant Hindu festivals of Divali and Holi are celebrated with as much enthusiasm by this multi-cultural and well-integrated society.
Goa really is a treasure trove worth exploring and the Goan hospitality is refreshingly welcoming!
